Find it absolutely unacceptable that I cannot export conversations / inbox data. Any and all data in hubspot belongs to the customer and a raw text / HTML export should be a basic feature.

Come on, this is absolutely essential. For CS teams <10 people, we can’t be setting up conversation APIs to gather data. Hubspot needs to do this natively.
Ability to export chat should be a core functionality. Data in chats helps us to better understand our customer’s needs and how we can better support them. Please put this on the roadmap. Using an API requries a devs time which is a task of its own, having a self serve option is optimal for marketers.
We were currently with Zendesk. We aksed sales person if we could export this data in Hubspot and was told ‘yes’. This was a very strong driving reason for us to leave Zendesk and move to HubSpot.
This would be very handy if we were able to export conversations just from the reporting and data perspective

We can export all other reports - why can’t we export conversations to analyze for themes and common issues?
I absolutely need this, and it’s unbelievable it’s not there. As they are right now, conversations are useless - I cannot get any intelligence out of them.

Hey everyone, I came across this discussion and decided to put together a proof of concept to see if I can help with solving this problem for Hubspot users.
The POC uses the Hubspot Inbox & Messages API to export your Inbox messages to save as CSV file from your browser. No separate signup required, just connecting the Hubspot app.
How to use it:
- Navigate to Settings > Integrations > Connected Apps > Conversations Exporter
- Open Exporter
- Choose an Inbox and click Save to CSV
It’s not yet listed in the Hubspot marketplace since it’s still a proof of concept. If there’s interest in a solution like this, I will apply for approval in the marketplace.
I would love to hear any feedback about if the tool is useful, how it could be better, if it’s not working properly, etc. Please reach out if I can answer any questions about the app or how to use it.

Product Manager of the Conversations API here. Perfect use case for this API (which, don’t wory, we are planning on getting it out of public beta to fully live). Conversations CSV export is a great opportunity for the app ecosystem. @KenF , I hope you get helpful feedback!

The API has been very intuitive to work with. There have been same exciting ideas suggested so far around reporting and analytics that the Conversations API would enable.
I’m really hoping to hear from more HubSpot users and their real life challenges and workflows to better understand what would help them the most.
