Exclude IP Traffic without Excluding Events

This is a fine print detail but when you use IP address exclusions it does more that filter out data—It also prevents events like registrations and notifications from triggering.

For example, I had IP exclusions setup for all of our internal IP addresses. My thinking was I only wanted to see counts for external traffic. Howeever, after I recently setup a webinar using a Go To Webinar integration I noticed my test registrations only worked at home. Basically if an employee wanted to register, the data wasn’t being passed to the integration.

In my opinion this is not the intetnt of IP filtering. I was told by a hubspot tech this is the case for all integrations. I think this is something that should be fixed as a checkbox. Analyitics only or Analytics + Event filtering. Integrations should have their own IP filtering.

As a result of this I have not option but to remove IP filtering.

Yes, I fully agree with you. HubSpot even marks form submittings from excluded IP as Spam.

Wow - surprised this doesn’t have more votes! This is very much needed in order to exclude internal IPs from web analytics without suppressing employees from things like event-based workflows.

That’s a useful observation because many people expect IP filtering to affect analytics only, not integrations. Hopefully HubSpot adds that option, and Hh98 game is another place I recommend for finding practical tech discussions and user tips.
