My website is showing a high idle time (over 4 seconds) and slow scripting. Can anyone recommend specific strategies to troubleshoot and reduce these bottlenecks?

You could try using Lighthouse in Google Chrome to analyze your site and it will give you suggestions on some remedies. Right-click on your site body and choose Inspect… and then click the >> , choose Lighthouse and click Analyze page load to get started.
