Enable (Deep) Cross Object Date Comparisons in Lists and Workflows

Ask 01: Would like the ability to filter an object’s records by directly comparing a date on that object to a date on another object.

For example: in a list view, I would like to see if contact visited our blog before their first meeting booked. It is not possible to compare the “occurred at” date on custom events to a lifecycle stage date on contacts. Only same-object date comparisons are possible.

Custom Event

ASK 02: For same-object date comparisons, I would like to be able to compare current and historical values.

For example: The last meeting booked date updates regularly. Has there ever been a last meeting booked date that was less than the current Turned into SAL date?

Current Workaround: Advice from support would be to to create a custom contact property that stamps a date so they can be compared within the same object. That means I would need to create a large number of custom dates. One for each lifecycle * event comparison.

Why should we have to do this copy dates that already exist elsewhere in the system? Some of this could be solved by letting us put custom calculated properties on all data objects (ex activities). If I could sync lifecycle dates to activity records, then I could compare them. The request for custom properties on activities exists here.

Agreed on being able to create reports and workflows that can reference dates between objects including activityes (calls, emails and meetings!)

Example:

If a meeting activity date is before the deal create date, then populate a custom deal property (or contact property etc)

Alternative Example:

If a meeting name/outcome/type = xyz, then copy that meeting date to a date on a custom deal property.

Also being able to access meeting and email properties is the edit records, would be extremely helpful.
