is there a glitch with hubspot, where sometimes it tracks emails & sometimes it doesn’t?
When I create an email in my outlook email account, I have ticked the boxes to ‘log email’ & ‘track email’. yet when i go to that contact’s card/file in hubspot, there is a message saying that I have chosen to log the email but not to track the email. yet, checking back on the email that was sent, there is hubpost’s symbol & a notation "tracked on then the date & time).
I am using the HubSpot Sales Outlook desktop add-in.
Hey @DSmith579
- Ensure that HubSpot Sales for Windows is correctly installed .
- Check whether the HubSpot icon is active in the Windows tray menu. If it’s grayed out, right-click the HubSpot sprocket icon, then select Enable notifications.
- Before sending your email, ensure that the Track email checkbox is selected.
- Emails sent in Plain Text mode cannot be tracked. If you see that emails are sent in plain text, switch to HTML mode by composing a new email in Outlook, then clicking HTML or Rich Text on the Message Options tab in the Format group.
- Confirm whether Outlook attached the HubSpot tracking pixel via CID . If so, the email will not be tracked.
- Try uninstalling and re-installing the add-in.

I am pretty sure everything is installed correctly & I am following all the correct processes ensuring the preferences are enabled, the tracking box is checked for every email I send. , the emails are written in HTML. I know this is correct, because some of my emails are being tracked. It is frustrating because even when I do everything the same each time for every email, not all the emails are being tracked. some are , some aren’t. It is also very puzzling because inside my email account , Outlook, those emails have the hubspot sprocket symbol saying the email is being tracked & has the date & time. However when i go to that contact’s file in my hubspot account, it says it’s not being tracked.
Same problem here. I’m trying to track a Yahoo email address. It’s not being tracked at all. But other emails are being tracked!
