Not only just tracking as the original comment, but the ability for “reply” to be added to the “if/then” logic of a workflow. If I send a marketing campaign, I should be able to know, “Hey these people replied and these people didn’t.” Campaigns should be based around ACTUAL BEHAVIOR not time or non-discrete behavior. The options right now certainly aren’t based upon real, tangible behavior that’s centered around buying.
For us this would also be an important feature. Like @acaringi we have also designed some of our emails in order to trigger a reply as the preferred action. Now we can’t measure this in Hubspot. I have to ask the owners (the sender is dynamically set to the contact’s owner) how many replies they received in a specific time period, in order to analyze the effectiveness of the email campaign. That is a hassle and could be easier.
Idea: add an optional toggle to track replies on email campaigns. This would set a specific reply-to address that looks very much the same as the sender’s email address. Once this reply-to address receives the email a reply is measured and the email is forwarded to the actual email address.
For example
Sender: martin.johnson@company.com
Reply-to: martin.johnson@company.hs.com (or martin.johnson@email.company.com > if that’s a domain set up with hubspot).
In any case, I would not want to have to rely on the Gmail inbox integration. If the owner hasn’t set that up or disables it, the data might get skewed.
A similar use case is for ‘personalizing’ invitiations to events (trade shows). The replies to these campaigns indicate individuals who should
Completely agree. The needs to be able to track email replies is crucial. When communicating with partners, we ne to follow tracking.
I 100% support and agree with @NickRise. It would be great to also be able to suppress people from workflows based on if they reply to an email.
Hubspot, here’s my message :

Chiming in with an additional voice saying that this feature would be absolutely crucial to some campaigns for us as well.
I agree! would love to see this feature. Not ALL CTA’s are click-through based interactions. I do not necessarily liksendingng them to a form response page either. i just want to make it easy for them to reply, gather the data, and have this reply % information on my campaign results.
This would be a huge help for us! Would love to see the feature added.
1) It’s not only crucial in building workflows for marketing but for the sales team to have a better understanding of how email are performing. Click and opens are great but responses from a CTA in an email like setting up a meeting would be invaluable.
2) We run our own A/B tests on our outbound sequences and we’d love to include replies to emails as a stat of how they perform.
3) It seems that this is already being tracked on some level withing sequences becuase anytime someone replies to an email they are removed from the sequnce.
Than you,
Kristin
It would be extremely valuable to be able to view all the contacts that replied to a marketing email. Replying to a marketing email can imply a high level of interest in your company.
Being able to easily track this as metric is very important in demonstrating the value of marketing and the value HubSpot provides. It would also help to ensure all leads are followed up on and opportunities are not missed out on.
*I see that when you go to an email’s performance page, click on Recipients, then view each individual’s click activity, if they Replied it shows up as an action. (AS DEPICTED BELOW). Being able to create a list of all the contacts that replied to a marketing email would be EXTREMELY BENEFICIAL.
Yes, please!!! I second this ![]()
Is this feature in the works, HubSpot?
Yes, please!
Please let’s not assume that marketing emails are not responded to.
There will be situtations when there’s an email to be sent to a big list of contacts, and it won’t be possible to send a sales email (vis templates) to each one of them.
So let’s have this feature enabled, where we can see the contacts who replied and what they replied so we can keep track and follow up as required.
Thanks.
I find it impossible to work without seeing email replies. Having to toggle back and forth in gmail defeats the whole purpose of a supposedly industry-leading CRM and Sales & Marketing Platform.
Please, please consider this. Our client gets so many valuable replies to our blog rss and special one off emails. These often lead to sales but we don’t have a way of proving it without slogging through his email and creating an excel sheet or a google doc with the interaction and result. This is time consuming and inefficient.
yes please!
we just sent out a newsletter to database as a marketing email. and got a big response.
how is number of replies/ reply rate not valuable marketing information??
+1 to this feature
