Do I need the new Hubspot Developer?

I created several legacy apps- public and private, that allows me to perform API and webhook calls. We use Python for private apps and FastAPI/Flask for public apps

Are there any real benefits to upgrading to the real platform?

Hi @KNguyen0

Thanks for the question — this is something a lot of developers who built on legacy HubSpot apps are wondering about.

I’d like to loop in a few Community members who are subject matter experts in the HubSpot Developer platform and modern integration patterns.
@BrandonWoodruff @GRajput @evaldas — hope you’re all having a great week! For someone with existing legacy public and private apps (using webhooks, API calls, Python/Flask/FastAPI), what are the real, practical benefits of migrating to the newer HubSpot Developer platform? Any specific features, security, scalability, or tooling advantages worth calling out?

Appreciate any insights you can share.
Best,
Victor

Hi @KNguyen0,

The latest developer platform provides features, such as:

Really depends on your use case on whether you would find these features useful for your app.

Legacy apps will be supported for a while, so you do not have migrate but it will not be getting any new features moving forward.

If you are currently using HubSpot serverless functions, it might be worth waiting for the next developer platform version.

Hi @KNguyen0
Upgrading legacy HubSpot apps to the current platform ensures long-term support, improved reliability, and better security. Modern apps provide persistent webhooks, enhanced OAuth handling with granular scopes, access to the latest APIs, and easier monitoring and logging. Public apps benefit from seamless Marketplace distribution, while private apps gain centralized token management and simplified maintenance. Overall, migrating future-proofs your integrations, reduces operational risk, and enables access to new features and improved scalability.

I hope this will help you out. Please mark it as Solution Accepted and upvote to help another Community member.

Thanks!

Thank you for posting @GRajput ! Best, Victor
