Did something change with reports?

I use the pivot report most commonly, and more and more I’m getting “report is too large to display,” even though the number of items has not increased substantially.

I have a pivot that had a colum of Deal Owner, Rows of Deal Name and Deal Stage, and value of Deal Amount. I have 182 deals, about 20 sellers, and 7 contract stages. Nothing crazy. The report now breaks when I try to run it as is.

Hello @Stillskill, Happy Thursday!

There could be some reasons for “too many data” errors. Investigating more here are a few examples:

  1. “This data set is too large to visualize” means that, for example, you tried to visualize data by owner (say there are 200 owners in your portal) and day (say there are 30 days in the date range) - there’s no way to show 6k data points on a chart.
  2. “too much data to analyze” only applies to a few particular reports, so it’s possible to get this error by asking the system to analyze too much data.

Most cases are usually can be solved by adding or removing filters, or dividing this metric into two reports. Was this error showing before or just started after adding new filters?

Kindly,

Pam
