Developer Account Newbie

Hi,

I have been working with Hubspot API key (access token of private app) to read / write data via API successfully for our company. But now, it requires working with webhooks which requires creating a public app and a developer account.

My admin says that they have given access to me for developer app like the attached snapshot. That account is on app.hubspot.com/
hubspot developer access query.jpg

Now my question is, can I myself create a developer account with the above permission on https://app.hubspot.com/signup-hubspot/developers (which apparently seems to me as a personal free account that may have limitations etc.), or the admin will create another account for me with the type = developer account on company portal?

Please advise.

The webhooks and related API based actions need to be used for company records.

Thanks.

Hey, @sohail-amdani, did you get this worked out? You can create a developer account without your Super Admin needing to do it for you. One suggestion I have is to add your Super Admin as an admin in the Dev account too.

This document breaks down the types of accounts HubSpot offers — Account Types

Thanks Jaycee for your valuable advice.

Do I need to have another email id to register for my dev account or it can handle with the same email user id that I have with my company?

And, what benefit do we get if I add the super admin user of standard account as admin here in dev account?

Best,

Sohail

Hey, @sohail-amdani :waving_hand: You are welcome.

  • You can use the same email address.
  • This is just a personal preference. I was in support before joining the community team. I helped several cases where there was only a single user for a dev portal. And later down the line, someone else at the company needed access but couldn’t get access without reaching out to support, filing a support ticket, etc…

Thanks for being a part of our community :orange_heart:

Have fun building! — Jaycee

Thanks again for the perfect clarification!
