When attempting to delete/archive a Workflow action, I get an error response saying the action definition is in use by two portals/accounts. The app/integration hasn’t been published yet and should not be in use outside of myself and one other person, and I’ve deleted all test accounts, so I don’t think the error is correct.
Is there a way to list which portal/account is using the action?
Hey, @AMatthews82
Thanks for your question. That sounds frustrating, for sure. We’re you able to this worked out?
To answer your last question, there is not a specific endpoint we can use to find out all the places an action is being used. I know that is not the ideal answer.
Can you add a screenshot of the error along with copy + pasting it here?
Thanks! — Jaycee
This is the API endpoint I’m using:
DELETE
/automation/v4/actions/{appId}/{definitionId}
and this is the response I’m getting back:
{
"status": "error",
"message": "Deletion of an in-use definition is currently not allowed. This definition is being used in 2 portal(s). Please remove the instance(s) and send the DELETE request again or contact HubSpot developer support.",
"correlationId": "b278f94b-caf0-47c4-a8d2-da2c0e5f8e44",
"context": {
"portalCount": [
"2"
]
},
"category": "VALIDATION_ERROR",
"subCategory": "ActionDefinitionValidationError.DEFINITION_IN_USE"
}
The error response makes sense if I was able to find the account(s) with the Workflow actions and remove those, but other than testing accounts I’ve set up personally, there should be no other accounts using the custom action I’m attempting to archive. I’ve even deleted all testing accounts I created to see if it would fix things and no dice.
Hey, @AMatthews82
That is mysterious and frustrating. I am going to do more research and reach out to my internal resources.
If you have a sec, will you DM me the portal ID and app ID, please? This may be useful in case my resource requests it. Might save us at least a bit of turn around time.
Thank you! — Jaycee
