Defining RevOps and Sharing Your Learning Goals

**

**

Here at HubSpot, we define Revenue Operations, or RevOps, as the people, processes, systems, and data that control how your business generates revenue.

That means that if you work at an organization that generates revenue, then you have RevOps at play in your business!

RevOps enables you to not only strategically improve your customer experience, but it also lets you powerfully and intentionally scale your business.

So, as I kick-off this conversation about RevOps, I’d love to learn the following about you:

  1. What’s your name, and where are you based?
  2. How do you define RevOps?
  3. What do you hope to learn in HubSpot Academy’s Revenue Operations Certification?

  2. How do you define RevOps? - For my company, RevOps operates from a strategic & operational lens, focusing primarily on optimizing customer journey outcomes, from Inquiry to Sales Qualified, from Sales Qualified to Closed, and from Onboarded to Renewed. RevOps coodinates with SOps, MOps, and CSOps to understand the big picture and helps to develop strategy and implement solutions for full-cycle improvements.
  3. What do you hope to learn in HubSpot Academy’s Revenue Operations Certification? - I’d like to widen my scope of resources and broaden my understanding of RevOps across different industries. While RevOps is in its adolencence, it can feel ‘lonely’ because there isn’t a-whole-lotta multi-industry communication and cases being discussed at scale. I very much enjoy the different perspectives from the class instructors.

Personally I define RevOps pretty much the same as Hubspot, the People, Processes, Systems, and Data the creates exponential growth opportunities. Where the disconnect is in most cases, is that the Chief Operations Officer is in a silo; purely focused on seamless execution. However, it is also tantamount that RevOps is in alignment with the companies Strategic Objectives and OKR’s (Objectives And Key Results). ---- What I hope to learn is how to design and implement automated processes and workflows, that allow for small-to-medium sized businesses and middle-market companies; the ability to implement RevOp Strategies so that they pursue new market verticals.

  1. How do you define RevOps?

The holistic approach of gathering data points from various parts of the business sheds light on inefficiencies in each department and provides solutions that align with the overall company goals and objectives.

  1. What do you hope to learn in HubSpot Academy’s Revenue Operations Certification?

I hope to take this course to learn real-life examples from experienced RevOps professionals on what works and what doesn’t. I would also like to define and implement a succinct and proven process to help me achieve my goals as the newly anointed Head of RevOps for Airbrake.

Hey Mary, really enjoying the certification so far!

My name’s Amber, and I’m a RevOps strategist based in Sanford, Florida (a lot of Floridians in this thread!) but my company is based outside of Philadelphia.

I generally define revops as bringing together sales, marketing, service, and all other departments so they can work together towards business goals. I love building workflows and finding those time-sucking manual processes that can be faster - and more effective - when automated, so teams can focus on those personal experiences.

I’m hoping to learn how other teams are using revops strategies and gain some new ideas for how I can help our clients.

Hi, my name is Tyler Sellhorn. I am a Customer Experience leader with 3 years experience running revenue operations at two different fully remote companies.

I define RevOps as building the systems that enable the robots to do the robotic things that unleash people to do their highest leverage tasks.

In HubSpot Academy’s Revenue Operations Certification, I hope to learn how to express what I have already been practicing as a professional in words and ideas that are well understood by others, especially within the HubSpot ecosystem.

Hello Community!

This is Aashray from Toronto, ON. I have always been intrigued by the idea of bringing power to people for people - kind of making a new meaning for Democracy in sales. This is what got me here at RevOps Hubspot and I’m already loving to learn from it. Looking to connect with like-mided minds, we could all use a bit of Revlove! Cheers.
