What is the difference between Total Amount and Weighted Amount on deal reports?

Hi @MariaDP,

You can find the definitions below:

Weighted amount: the Amount multiplied by the Deal probability. This can be used as the default deal amount in the forecast tool, or in a custom single object report. It is recommended to use this property instead of Forecast amount when reviewing expected revenue on an individual deal record.

Amount: the total value of the deal in the deal’s currency, if your HubSpot account uses more than one currency.

The deal probability can be set in the pipeline settings: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/object-settings/set-up-and-customize-pipelines?hubs_content=knowledge.hubspot.com/de/object-settings/set-up-and-customize-pipelines&hubs_content-cta=english#edit-or-delete-pipelines

Best regards

Hi @MariaDP !
Here’s a clear explanation of the difference between Total Amount and Weighted Amount in deal reports:
Total Amount
This is the actual deal value you or your team entered in the Amount property on the deal.
It doesn’t change based on deal stage or probability — it’s the full expected value if the deal closes successfully.
Example:
If a deal is worth ₹1,00,000, the Total Amount is ₹1,00,000, no matter what stage it’s in.
Weighted Amount
This is the Total Amount multiplied by the probability of the deal closing (based on the deal stage it’s in).
It helps give a more realistic estimate of future revenue by factoring in how likely the deal is to close.
Formula:
Weighted Amount = Amount × Deal Stage Probability
Example:
Let’s say the deal is worth ₹1,00,000 and it’s in a stage with a 40% probability of closing:
Weighted Amount = ₹1,00,000 × 40% = ₹40,000
