It could be interesting for us to easily identify exceptions or issues (through a warning tag) on deals that would not meet predefined criteria based on the deal stage.
As it is currently not possible in HubSpot to apply deal tags based on the deal stage, I would be to create a Warning field, along with a workflow that checks the conditions and populates the Warning field.
Here are examples of criteria that would condition the deal warning:
Negotiation: deals in Negotiation should close within the quarter.
Order in Progress: deals should close within the month.
No Identified deals should have a close date within the quarter.
