Deal process

Morning

First of all quit excited I have been told I will be given the Enterprise Licence in August which is great

Secondly, we have an enquiry for 3x machines, raised a deal and moved it along the pipeline as per the process. In the end the person bought 2x machines in the deal, and changed the 3rd machine. The 3rd machine is cheaper. Is there a way to reflect what the person bought against what they enquired about? There is about £10k difference in price

Basically in layman terms enquired about a rolls royce (Deal) and bought a mini :slightly_smiling_face:

Hey @JGray30, thanks for reaching out! This is an interesting use case and depends on how you’re tracking this info currently.

There will always be some variance throughout the deal lifecycle since the customer is relying on your company to find the best solution for them (and it’s not always what the customer initially expects it to be).

If you’re using deal properties for the deal amount and product(s) of interest, you can check out the property history (more info in this HubSpot Knowledge Base article). That will show you the history of property value changes, when they were made, and who made them. When a deal enters closed won, you can review the property history to see how the amount/products changed from when the deal was first created to when it closed. This will be a manual process, but it’s definitely good to slow down and get a better sense for how your deals are changing from initial creation to closing out.

If you need to report on this data, that may be a little tricky and manual. You’d likely need to create an additional set of “amount” and “product(s) of interest” properties — one set would be used for the initial values, and the other set would be used for the final values and everything in between. You could then compare those values for individual deals. This could become confusing, so it may be better to handle this manually depending on your deal volume. Maybe that becomes part of your process for closing out a deal — you have the rep review the deal and proeprty history and fill in some custom properties to indicate any changes in products (upgrades/downgrades) and changes in deal amount (increases/decreases). You could then cross-reference that data with other deal properties you’re gathering, like the product(s), industry, etc. to see if you uncover any trends.

Hope this helps you at least get started!!
