This would be very helpful - and would improve our team’s experience significantly. Really surprised Hubspot doesn’t have this functionality already.

It’s my first time using hubspot and discovering that this request hasn’t been implemented yet (first request happened in 2017 and there are tons of comments here) is such a great disappointment!
@hubspot Has progress been made on this highly requested feature? Our team would really benefit from this. Our sales reps do a lot more than call, email and LinkedIn. They also have digital interactions, such as video conferences as well as in-person interactions, such as site visits, demos, and presentations. This would be a big help in metrics and prioritizing tasks.
When creating a task inside a campaign, the type dropdown does not include an option for social media posts.
Adding the ability to create custom task types in general would be awesome.

So customizing Task types is still not supported? I’d like to add ‘Visit’ for example.
We absolutely need this! I met with a project manager on this topic over 2 years ago. We can customize call and meeting types and I remember going over this with the project manager and explaining our use case and how others would appreciate. I’ve been told with other ideas that we need to upvote because the dev team looks at the most popular requests, but this one is going on 7 years … so …
Since I can’t filter tasks that are associated with a deal, creating a deal type as ‘Prospect’ or ‘Deal’ would be my only other work-around I can think of. This is an easy idea to complete.
Yes, I would like to be able to customize our Task Type just like we can for Meeting or Call.
We are still waiting for this, very basic, feature to be added! A quick search shows this has been asked for time and time a gain for 4+ years!
It would also be great to assign tasks to a team instead of just individuals…
I need to create a task type of “Site Visit” in order to track a process in our sales function. It is not a meeting but a task. It seems strange that we can customize so many fields in Hubspot Sales but not task type.
Should be an easy lift…

We need custom Task Types.
HubSpot sometimes is sooo configurable, and sometimes it’s not.
Very frustrating to see a feature being requested so long ago and still being ignored and not being able to use it.
People have been asking for this feature for 8 years now, but still the task types have been stuck at default. There are many great features surrounding tasks and but the lack of customizability makes it so that we can not inplement them into our work.
We would like to assign tasks for each other, but now the task view just combines everything in one list without the ability to filter. sure you could type out the whole thing each time, but it’s a waste of time when you have to write 80 a day. catagorizing them by type (specific to our company) will make the task view managable and lets our employees break up their activities into blocks.
Fact of the matter is that there are more than three task types in real life. Let us create our own and filter on them in the task view.
It would indeed be great if it woud be a customized dropdown such as it goes with Queue.
It’s now approaching four years since I first responded and followed thi request. It has gone no further despite over 750 upvotes of the OP. I don’t understand why or how it might take so long to implement something so simple given some of the other changes made during that time. It was even updated for the role out of the sales workspace!?!
