Customize Survey Reminder

Status: Idea Submitted

Allow us to configure reminder emails with a unique subject line and body copy than the original email invitation. If the contact doesn’t respond to one type of appeal (help us get better, incentive to respond, etc.), we want to hit them with a totally different appeal on the reminder.

That’s a great idea! I completely agree that the subject line and message of a reminder should be fully customizable to give it a different angle (such as an incentive or a more direct tone). I’ve already upvoted your suggestion.

While the product team evaluates this for native HubSpot surveys, an alternative that can help you right now is managing survey delivery through Workflows (if you have Service Hub Professional or Enterprise):

  1. Create a contact-based workflow.
  2. Use the action to send the initial survey.
  3. Add a delay for however many days you deem necessary.
  4. Create a conditional branch (if/then) to check whether the contact responded to the survey or not.
  5. If they haven’t responded, instead of using the automatic reminder, configure the sending of an automated marketing email. There, you can customize the subject line, design, and body 100% with a completely different approach.

I hope they implement this natively soon! In the meantime, I’m here to help if you need anything.

Hi Carlos.

Thanks for the upvote, and I hope this gets traction with the dev team. This is definitely a workaround, but when we explored it previously, I recall the survey link in the email body could only be an “anonymous link” that would not tie the responses back to the specific contact. That doesn’t work for us.
