Custom invoice templates

I would like the ability to customise the HubL behind an invoice template in the same way as we can already customise a Quote template.

Customers in our region are required to have a payment slip at the bottom of the invoice, which includes a QR code. Whilst this might be something only limited to a small number of users, this would be something that we can easily add ourselves if we had full access to the HTML code as in the case of Quotes.

I would like to add to this idea that a higher customisation for the invoice is much needed.

It is not possible to add a footer or a header with the company data. The text of the products is too large.

Adding additional info required from the regulations is also not possible. Therefore a general liberalisation of the invoice template customisation is more than welcomed for the following reasons:

- great CRM, poor invoice template - not cool combination

- from customer perspective, invoice is a very important aspect, no invoice, no data in CRM, hence lower adoption.

- 1 size does not fit all, especially if it is about invoices

We completely agree. The lack of invoice customization is surprising. Having to cram all the required details into the comment section makes the invoice look cluttered and unprofessional. Honestly, it feels embarrassing to send something like this to a customer.

I couldn’t agree more with Alexander-K. The invoicing tool is surprisingly far from professional use. And that’s embarrassing for a company as big as Hubspot. Invoice customisation, e-invoices, custom invoice numbers, etc.

Same here. The current invoice template editor is ridiculous.

  • Why can’t we edit the line item properties to be shown on the invoice?
  • Why can’t we use our already set tax rates for the “one-time-tax”?
  • Why can’t we use associated properties in the comments field?
  • Why can’t we have smart content on the invoices?
  • Why can’t we edit the header and footer?
  • Why can’t we edit the design at all?

The whole topic has been around since Jan 2024 at least. That was over 2 years ago!
