I have a sales hub professional seat, and I am trying to customize a Quote Template and add specific line items necessary in my quote. I can’t seem to figure out a way to do this in the customization area. I need upwards of 15 different line items, so adding each individual line item every time is not intuitive or efficient. Any advice?
Hello @RebekahConti,
To address this challenge, the following workaround is suggested. You can create a draft quote that includes your desired 15 line items. Each time you need to generate a new quote, simply clone this draft. This approach will help streamline the process and save you both time and effort.
This is a great solution for this issue! (Temporary solution that is, but a great one!)
Hi,
With this idea - where is the quote saved? My knowledge is that we have to create a quote while in a deal, then that quote is saved against the deal. If we’re doing your suggestion, where would this initial quote be saved? Against a seperate company that we’d have to look up? Thanks
Hi @HHarthern,
Happy Monday!
Based on the accepted solution above, you could create an “template” deal that you use solely for the draft quote with the line items. This deal wouldn’t be used as an active deal but more so as a sample that you can save the quote to.
I hope this helps!

Yes - I did think this but then wouldn’t the total value of that Quote be classed as predicted revenue in our Quotes section?
Hi @HHarthern,
Could you provide a screenshot of the specific area in the Quotes section that you are referring to?

@RebekahConti this sounds like the kind of thing LinePilot was designed for - in fact we even have a walkthrough video all about creating templates for quotes - check it out here and let me know if you have any questions!
Hi @RebekahConti - it’s nice to meet you!
We have an app for HubSpot called Portant. It will give you more control over the data included in your documents (including using any Custom Property or performing custom calculations on the properties). For your specific need - adding lots of line items into a quote - Portant supports grouping multiple line items into a single document by placing the line item tags inside a table in your Google Docs or Slides template.
When you run the workflow from a deal, Portant will expand the table and add a row for each line item automatically. See the guide here: Add multiple line items into a single document | Portant Docs
For example, Portant can:
- source and use any data connected to your HubSpot Deal and customise a proposal with it (custom properties and objects included).
- save document/PDF details and links as custom properties on your deal so you can automate workflows from documents that Portant creates.
- be used as an action within a HubSpot workflow
- and more…
If you need any additional help setting up the table tags or wiring this into a HubSpot workflow, please feel free to reach out and I can point you to examples or walkthroughs.
Cheers,
Tom
