Create email template directly from an email

I want to make sure I’m not inventing a wheel that has already been made.

Additionally I did a little looking into if this was an “idea” already posted here, or if the tool that I am suggesting in fact already exists. Since I haven’t found anything, here is the idea:

Imagine for a moment that you are in the process of emailing a customer, either from their contact/company/deal.

You realize that this particular structure to your email isn’t already a template, and that it would be so easy to use this again in the future.

The problem, is that there is no: “SAVE THIS AS A TEMPLATE” option. (at least I couldn’t find it)

In summary, could we have a “create a template” button right from an email that we have just written to a customer, instead of having to go the route of copy and pasting the entire email structure and manually adding the email as a template separately? I know that at the end of the day, that route isn’t terribly inconvenient, however it would eliminate and extra step or two, and then would save lots of time in the long run.

Definitely echoing this idea.

HubSpot’s goal should be to make the process of managing customer relations/accounts as easy and intuitive as possible. Clicking template loads the list of templates, but we should be able to then click the option to create a new template.

I like the idea of just saving an email as a template, but given variables that can be added to an email template, I can see how saving an email as a template may not offer a complete solution. The Template button is already available when composing an email, and when you click on Templates, it loads the list of templates. Why not allow the ability to create a template right then and there?

It’s not that hard to copy the email, go to templates and create a template but that’s not the point. HubSpot should aim to allow the user to maximize efficiency and it’s well thought out user interfaces that allow for that. As it, it feels like a half baked solution.
