Create a NAICS code list in a dropdown field

i need to create a NAICS code list in a dropdown field;

hubspot appears to require manual creation of each field value,

can hubspot facilitate import of the list rather than force manual creation?

Hi @ogatchell,

You can add options in bulk here:

Best regards!

Adding to @karstenkoehler’s answer for anyone who finds this later, because NAICS codes have one catch.

Load options takes your pasted list and sets each option’s internal value from its label, and HubSpot doesn’t let you change an internal value once it’s saved. So decide first what you want stored:

  • If you paste “541511 - Custom Computer Programming Services” as the label, the code ends up inside the internal value too. That’s usually fine for filtering and reports.
  • If you need the internal value to be just the code (for example because an integration or an enrichment tool writes “541511”), Load options won’t do that. You’d add each option with + Add option and type the internal value yourself, or create the options through the properties API, where you send label and value separately.

The full 6-digit list is around 1,000 codes, well under HubSpot’s 5,000-option limit, but large enough that you may prefer the 2-digit sectors or 4-digit groups for reporting, with the 6-digit code in a separate text property.

Full disclosure, I built an app for the second case: Bulk Property Import & Export. You fill a sheet with one row per property and the options as “Label|value”, so “Custom Computer Programming Services|541511”, preview the whole batch, then apply. Load options is the quicker route if the label-based internal values are fine for you. The app is on the website in my profile if it helps; it only uses property settings access.
