Countdown property

Status: Idea Submitted

In our company we try to adhere to a 30 day onboarding period. It would be very good to have a Countdown property which advises how many days are left in the period or how over it is.
I tried doing this with a workflow, but couldn’t find a way to re-enroll a deal every 24 hours.

@JimyMason I read your idea, and had an idea - hope this helps!

You could use the set and clear property functions, combined with delays, in a single workflow.

For example:

trigger = onboarding start (whatever your property/event is to start onboarding)

set property (create a new custom property called “onboarding countdown”) to 30

+

delay = 24 hours (or 1 day)

+

clear property onboarding countdown

set property onboarding countdown = 29

+

delay = 24 hours (or 1 day)

+

clear property onboarding countdown

set property onboarding countdown = 28

+

repeat…

@Jnix284 Yeah, I’d thought about going down that track, but wanted to avoid creating all that repetition. It seems like such an easy thing to do, but just couldn’t find a way to get the deal to re-enrol itself on a scheduled basis. I tried re-enrollment if the onboarding countdown had been updated, but didn’t work either.
Maybe if I try clearing the property and populating it as you suggested, then having the enrolment trigger as “is known” it would re-enrol itself?

@JimyMason if you are re-enrolling them in the same workflow, how will you get the number to be less each time?

@Jnix284 ah, you’re right. If I clear it, I can’t decrease it by one. Without clearing it, i wouldn’t be able to re-trigger the “is known” enrolment criteria. Annoying.

@JimyMason once you setup the first series with the delay, you can use the clone > this and all after it, then just decrease the number, repeat. That would at least speed up having to set it up 30 times…

@Jnix284 true thanks for that
