Any case studies for a beginner?
Hi @Gravity,
Could you share a bit more context about your request? What do you mean by controversial content writing? Are you asking in a B2B or B2C context? What information are you hoping to get by reviewing case studies? What exactly are you a beginner in?
Best regards
Hi krasten i hope you are doing good, I am learning Content Marketing I heard a term Controversial content? its like alienating the out groups and promoting the points that your audience agree on secretly. to build human connection
Thanks for specifying, @Gravity - this blog post gives a great overview on the topic: How to Experiment With Controversial Content (Without Alienating People)
It also has examples ![]()
If you’re just starting with content marketing, I think the safest way to experiment with controversial content is to challenge an idea rather than attack a group of people.
For example, instead of saying “people who do X are wrong,” you could take a commonly accepted industry practice and explain why you disagree with it, then support your position with examples or data. That can create discussion and strong opinions without deliberately alienating part of your audience.
I’d also test this gradually. Start with mildly contrarian topics, measure comments, shares, engagement, and negative feedback, and then see which level of disagreement fits your particular audience. The goal should be creating a genuine conversation, not controversy for its own sake.
