Hi there,

If I remove a contact from a specific list, will this contact be removed from HubSpot?

Hi @aben,

No, removing a contact from a (static) list does not remove the contact from the CRM. A contact will not be deleted when you remove them from a list. In that sense, you can think of lists as a tag or a filter.

If you want to delete a record, you would follow these instructions.

What about if the list is an Active one?

Same thing, when a contact is leaving an active list, they are not deleted. They will continue to exist.

However, I specifically mentioned static lists because you cannot remove single contacts from an active list. In active lists, you need to change the filters for a contact to “leave”.
