How do you create a unique ID for each contact/deal?

What exactly are your requirements for such an ID? The ‘Record ID’ is something that HubSpot assigns upon record creation and which is already unique. Would that be an option?

I need to be able to track a contact without using a name but an ID. Where do I find the record ID?
@RManikus when you open a contact, it’s the second number in the URL. You can also find it by clicking ‘View all properties’ in the top left corner of any record, then searching for record ID.

Just to clarify that all records in the CRM have a unique ID
automatically created by HubSpot.
You can access this ID from the records URL
but also when you export the records and also from the API.
