Can i create a mobile app of my own which can be linked to hubspot crm and used to edit contacts properties and add events to contacts timeline? Basically i should be able to receive and send contact details/properties from my app to hubspot crm.

The HubSpot APIs are open, so you are welcome to develop whatever you wish, as long as your actions comply with the HubSpot Developer Terms, Developer Policy, and Acceptable Use Policy.
I’m not familiar with mobile app development, so I won’t be of help there, but I can answer questions about interacting with any of our public APIs.
