I have created a new Lifecycle Stage which I then sync’d to our NetSuite environment and it displays as a bunch of random numbers. Upon further investigation is would appear that this is the Lifecycle ID for my custom Lifecycle. I have seen that once a Lifecycle has been created it’s ID can’t be changed, which is fair enough, but I don’t see anywhere where you can set the ID when you create a Lifecycle - it only asks you for a stage name and then it generates the ID automatically. Is there a way to create Lifecycles and assign a friendly ID (eg. via an API)? The baked in stages all have sensible IDs that near enough match the stage name.
Hi @JSh1. From what I can tell, and how I’ve used the now-editable lifecycle stages, you’re correct that HubSpot auto-creates the ID for the stage and it’s not editable.
When you describe it showing up as random numbers, is that in NetSuite? Is there a way to change the view there to make it the HubSpot stage name rather than the ID? That would be the only solution that comes to mind for me.
Hi Dan, thanks for your input, I’m super new to HubSpot and very much learning on the job! I’ve had another look at the field mappings in HubSpot and unfortunately you can only select ‘LifeCycle Stage’ which for some reason is pulling through to NetSuite as the HubSpot field ID rather than the ‘Label’. My LifeCycle Stage field in NetSuite is therefore ‘210403825’ which isn’t going to please the CRM Users!
@JSh1 is there a way in NetSuite to re-label them? Like a workflow to match the number to your own text-based label? I don’t know NetSuite, so IDK if that’s even an option. Wish I had a better answer for you!
@danmoyle That is certainly worth looking into and although not ideal, it would probably work. Thankfully this is all just hypothetical currently, I’m inclined to steer our marketing team towards using the baked in LifeCycle Stages, hopefully they understand why! Many thanks again for your input!
