We’re currently testing using the default campaigns reporting and we run in a few hiccups:
encoding the space with “%20” is mandatory (issue: we’ve build a tracking template that ads “+” instead of “%20” to make more compact and aesthetically pleasing; so the links we created won’t show up in reporting)
accessing the utm_content reporting - it’s only possible to get the utm_campaign,utm_source, utm_medium. I’ve tried to add the utm_source to the campaign but don’t seem to have that option (or cannot find it).
Does anyone have any best practices to deal with these issues?
Thanks!
Hello @RLicau
If you use the UTM tracking builder in HubSpot (see screenshot below), you need to use it exactly as it is built in HubSpot.
Your tracking URL could look something like this: Example Domain
If you just add your contents (assets) to the HubSpot Campaigns (Campaign feature), you can also create specific tracking URL into the campaign. But the syntax cannot be modified.
Hi Emmanuelle,
Thanks for the reply.
We have considered doing this. However, the default encoding for the space is “§20” and I found it’s so much more elegant & legible to replace it with “+”.
We have our utm tracking template build with this syntax.
IN your example there are no spaces. So we shoudl call our campaign “TestCampaignNameHere” instead of “Test Campaign Name Here”. Which could be an option but not very user friendly.
Thanks for your reply!
@RLicau Have you tried replacing the spaces with + to see if that works? so instead of TestCampaignNameHere or Test Campaign Name Here, you enter it as Test+Campaign+Name+Here?
