If you want uncalculated fields or empty properties used in a calculation to automatically become zero (instead of manually entering zero for each one) you can create a workflow.
Go to “Workflows” under the “Automations” tab on the left side bar of HubSpot.
1. Create a new workflow from scratch
a. Choose the type of property you want to edit. (I chose “Company-based” because my property pertains to a company)
b. Choose “Blank workflow” and continue.
2. Create a trigger by choosing a property and criteria for it to meet
a. Choose Group 1
b. Choose trigger type “When filter criteria is met”
c. Choose your option under “Object Information” (mine is “Company Properties” because the property I need to edit is a Company Property)
d. Choose the property you want to edit.
e. Change “Is equal to” under Edit Criteria to “Is unknown”
f. Click “Done” and “Save” next to the Enrollment triggers bar.
3. Create the action
a. Click the “+” under the trigger enrollment box in the workflow diagram. (It is above the “⚐ End” box)
i. It should say “Configuring”
b. Click “CRM” and then “Edit Record”
c. Select the same property under “Property to Edit”
d. Enter “0” in the “Choose a value” box
e. Ensure the “Clear existing property value” checkbox is NOT SELECTED.
f. Click “Save” by the Edit record tab.
Voila! It should look like this screenshot below. Now review and publish the workflow. I wanted this to update all of the companies with this property so I selected “Yes, enroll existing companies” when I published.
