Hey All,
I am not sure if my subject is helpful or if I am in the right section of the community, but i am hoping to get some information and possibly some instructions.
Currently when I want to create a new deal, I follow these steps within HubSpot.
1. Find the appropriate company.
2. On the right hand pane find “Deals” and select “+Add”.
3. From the pop out window I fill out the information that i need to populate before continuing to PandaDoc.
My questions are for this “Create Deal” page.
1. Over the years previous employees have created fields that we no longer use. Is there a way to see if those fields are associated to any reports that we may use or would have used in the past? I want to remove the unused fields but the one who looks after HubSpot wants to double check it wont affect us down the road. This person does not have time to do this and I want to take the initative to make my job more effecient.
2. At the bottom of “Create Deal” we have “Add Line Item” where some of SKUs are. Is there a way if we add a line item or multiple line items to have them populate in Pandadoc?
3. RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) - We currently create a deal and have a deal type that we select then create the pandadoc. Just curious if there are other methods for a RMA?
4. Random question - does HubSpot offer auto correct like outlook or word does?
Hi @RReicker,
I can help with (1) and (4).
(1) When you navigate to Settings > Properties, you should see a column that displays for each property where exactly it is used:
(4) No, HubSpot does not offer this.
Best regards!
Hi @RReicker
Thanks for your post, you’re in the right place!
To answer your first two questions:
1. You can definitely see where the fields are used and if they are associated to any reports. You’ll want to go into Settings > Properties > Deals and search for the fields on the Create Deal form. When you find the field in question, you can click into it and see where it’s used. Here’s an example of what that looks like. If I were to click into Reports, I’d see the specific reports this Amount field is included in.
2. In terms of Line Items syncing with Pandadoc, in my experience, you need to create Deal properties based on a pre-defined product library of line items in order to pull in the required product/line item data into Pandadoc. That’s due to only Deal, Contact and Company data mapping to Pandadoc, no other objects like Products.
For your question on RMAs, what you laid out makes sense to me. I don’t necessarily have any experience with RMAs though so curious to get other community member’s thoughts.
For autocorrect, upon my quick search it appears HubSpot does not have this functionality and user rely on browser-based autocorrect/spell check tools as an alternative. Again, would love for other communiy members to validate this!
I hope this is helpful!
Thank you, Karsten provided the same info on number 1, but # 2 is also a major pain point. Your insights were most helpful.
