Allow users to reset notification settings using notification profiles via presets so that they can start accepting defaults again.
Details
If a user has made changes to notification settings under their own account, these changes supersede any settings that were being applied to the user account via presets (notification profiles). Once they do this, they cannot go back to accepting preset defaults again.

Here are some reasons as to why this would be beneficial:

  1. Some users make these changes not knowing that they will have to manually maintain them going forward. So now they have no option to switch back.
  2. Having everyone use the preset makes sure that admins can turn-off and turn-on the notifications anytime. This has been especially usefull when importing data. In the past, our users have gotten notifications in bulk flooding their inbox if it is not turned off. Allowing users to switch back makes managing this process easier.
  3. In some cases, allowing users to switch back to presets makes troubleshooting easier.

Get this done! Renders the notification profile feature rather innefective.

I’m an admin and have 400 users that need to have consistent notifications, and there is no way for me to do this.

Do I need to meet with these 400 users individually to help walk them through updating their notifications? Is that truly a good use of my time?
Your customers that are admins need to be able to have control of their account and right now, there are so many places that don’t allow the admin to have control of their account. This is one of them.

This post is over a year old. Maybe by the time this “feature” is added, I will have finished working with all 400 of my users to update their notifications.
