Adding hyperlinks to an accordion.

I am trying to add hyper links into the drop down of an accordion that I have in a landing page. However, in the text editor I cannot see an option to add link and there is a notice that “This module is managed by the theme or developer to limit functionality.” I was told that work around this by creating a “child theme” in the design manager’s html. Unfortunantly, I have no idea what that means or what to do.

Trust you are doing great. It would be great if you can share the screenshot where you are facing this problem and also please share the name of theme that you are using to craete the landing page.

Also find here the attachment of steps that would help you to create the Child theme from existing one.

I’m doing well, thank you for asking. Below is what I see when I am try to edit the the acordian module. I was under the impression that there would be an option to add hyper links to the Acordian, but I cannot see one. The theme I am using is “Growth”

After talking with customer support I was told to make a child theme from this screen:

Unfortunantly, I have no coding experience and I do not even know what a child theme is.

Hi @PSnoxell I have pulled up the Accordion module in Growth theme and it looks like the developer has disabled the link capability within the description text. This could be because it causes a conflict with the accordion functionality or perhaps some other reason entirely.

Whether you created a child theme or not, the functionality of the module won’t change.

The only way it would change is if you create a child theme and then create a custom version of the module that allows you to add a link. I’m not sure why support recommended this.

The included themes from HubSpot and many of the free themes do have limitations. Each module is unique to the theme and/or the developer that created them, so not all accordion modules will have the same capabilities.

For example, the Accodion in POWER theme allows links in the description text.

I have also written a blog for the HubSpot community about choosing a free theme to help new HubSpot users identify a theme that will work best for what they need.
