We currently have a workflow managing our handoff from our “Sales” team to our “Servicing” team, because there can be only one deal owner, we’ve been keeping the original deal owner and adding the Servicing team member as a collaborator on the deal, which is great, but we’re having to do that manually for every single deal. Currently, workflows can change the deal owner, which in this case is not ideal as the original owner is still involved and we also want them to stay “credited” for the deal. Allowing the workflow to add that collaborator during the handoff would save time and reduce any potential missed communications.
Currently, Deal Collaborators cannot be used in Workflows, but we would love to see this feature. We would like f.ex. to add the deal owner automatically as a deal collaborator, but this isn’t yet possible.
Yes! It would be great if we could add the deal collaborators in workflows. For example, if I automate an email for the business owner and the deal collaborator could receive it as well.
There’s quite a few threads about this, so hopefully it becomes an option soon. The only solution I’ve found is importing collaborators (as of Apr 2024): Format import files
We would love to see these feature as well. It would help us foster collaboratoin between Sales and AE teams.
This would be very useful - we currently have custom properties (Hubspot User field type) to track other roles in deals.
It would be nice to add those users as Collaborators.
This would be incredibly helpful - we have lead sales reps and assistant sales reps, so it would be far easier to add the assistant to the lead rep’s deals automatically. This is especially true when there are new hires who need to be added to a large number of deals at once.
Does anyone know if there is a way to assign collaborators through workflow using another Deal property? Right now, assigning collaborators is very manual.
Really wish this existed! To rely on manual assigning is not ideal and we want to be able to have certain triggers auto assign this
Agreed. We automatically want to assign a collab for a rep in a different division. The Collab tool is already there so why wouldn’t the capability be there? SMH
Here’s our use case: when a deal is of a certain size, we use a workflow to assign the deal an executive sponsor. There’s then a program of activities that exec sponsor does with the deal and then with the customer when they come on board. I’m manually adding myself as a deal collaborator when I am assigned to be an exec sponsor and then I’m able to use the power of Sales Hub and reporting to assess my “book” of business as exec sponsor. It would be very helpful if upon being assigned exec sponsor I could also auto assign myself to the Deal as a collaborator.
Agreed. We have clients that need to assign a closer to a deal as a collaborator if it takes over X days to close, ensuring both owners get credit for the sale. However, we can’t use the collaborator field to do so because we can’t assign via workflow. Instead we have to create a separate owner custom property circumventing the built-in collaborator functionality.
Agreed. We would love to use collaborators for channel deals, exec sponsors, etc. Being able to automatically assign via a workflow makes a ton of sense. Forcing the action to be completed manually is not scalable. Please update ASAP.
Echoing the necessity for the ability to automate adding collaborators in workflows.
It would be good to add a collaborator to a user in a special team when a workflow criteria has been met
Agree. Aside from the fact that collaborators is only available on deals, the fact that we can’t set rules to automatically add a collaborator via workflows is the main thing stopping us from using collaborators at the moment.
Totally agree with this idea.
It would be amazing to allow workflow to assign deal collaborators.
I’m actively trying to do this as well and would love this ability!
I don’t really understand why this isn’t a default
We desperately need to be able to assign deal collaborators via workflows.
