Add second unique identifier to avoid duplicates

Currently HS only has one unique identifier, which is an email address. This has led to multiple duplicate entries in our CRM as the phone number is more often what we have versus having an email address. I am not new to the CRM space and HubSpot is the first CRM I’ve used where they only have one unique identifier. It’s a huge flaw. Salesforce and even Lasso both have multiple identifiers to avoid duplicates. This is a major point of confusion and frustration for our sales team. Please fix it!

Hi @CPaden

Nothing is stopping you from creating a custom property and requiring for it to be unqiue during the property creation process.

The only limitation is that you can not trigger/request uniqueness after a property is created.

100% agree. Thousands of users with multi location companies entities they want in HS (franchises, etc) meet this business need. Same with their associated contacts to these locations. Work around often according to HS is to buy upgraded plans to solve basic poor objection relationship managment push back on improvements here - looks like for a few years.
