Ability to create subtasks

Our team would love to see the ability to create steps within a task that lead to its completion (similar to the projects layout) to best collaborate with our team and conduct complex steps of a process. The ability to assign portions of a task with its substeps to other teammates would be ideal

For instance:

The task is a to-do to Create a Quote assigned to Me

The sub-tasks would be to Pull a Detailed report assigned to my teammate A

Another sub-task would be to Review Market Data assigned to me

Another sub-task would be to Schedule a Consult with the Project Manager assigned to teammate B

The subtasks could have their own due dates and once they are past due, they could send a notification to the task owner. Once all subtasks are complete, they can notify the task owner.

This assists with team management, collaboration between teams, and individual accountability for multi-step processes.

I have a bunch of daily tasks that I do. I currently use Asana where I create one Main task for example ‘Daily tasks’ and I have close to 30-35 subtasks under that main task, with several pieces of information added to each subtask’s description on action items to take. This helps streamline my workflow. I am looking to move this flow to Hubspot since all of the lead data is here, and would ideally like to do my task management here as well.

When you work in a deal instead of seeing task all over the place unorganized we need a way to attach them to a master task.

Asana has this feature.

Also as part of a master task many subtask could be assigned to multiple people on a team.

Hi everyone! My name is Hallie and I’m a Program Manager on the CXM Team. I’m excited to share that there is a private beta titled “Subtasks” for this feature, which you can read about and request to opt into via this link. This is available for Professional & Enterprise accounts at this time. Please leave your feedback here for our product teams as you use the beta feature! Thank you :slightly_smiling_face:

HI @hhiggins,

I was just testing out the new sub-tasks feature, I love the idea behind it as my company has several situations, such as offboarding, where we have multiple actions that need to be completed for a customer at the same time by several different roles. My hesitation with implementing this for use in our teams is that parent tasks do not have a behavioral setting to auto-complete once all sub-tasks have been marked complete by their assignees.

I would love to get to a place in our workflow builds where I can dependably use tasks/sub-tasks in conjunction with action delays, but in its current state, the subtasks feature is leaving us open to some potential process gaps.
