Setting up a branded theme

Pink_Pony

Hi All,

We have just purchased an Enterprise level account and I am setting it up for the business.

I have a very clear idea on what the templates need to look like for our account.

Is there a way I can build custom tempaltes wihtout using code - creating these in the design manager is awfully clunky!

Ideally I would be able to edit the templates within another theme.

I can't seem to do this though. Interested to hear what other people have done.

Note: I really, really, don't want to have to use code. We use marketo at the moment and all of our tempaltes are hard coded. It can take up to six weeks and alot of money to just to the simpliest changes, do not what to have this type of set up again.

Hey @Pink_Pony (club)

At the moment no, HubSpot got rid of the visual template editor a few years ago. The only way to create or edit templates right now is using code. To customise a purchased template you would need to create a child theme and edit that.

There seemed to be a deliberate move by Hubspot about a year or two ago to make the themes and template tools very developer centric. Their thinking is the developer will create a template and marketers can use these easily within the page editors without having to edit a template.

You can edit the modules of your pages on the page level using the drag and drop editor, so you can add or remove content and change layouts on the page level without coding.

Most good theme's will give a high level of flexibility on what you can edit too without coding, but within HubSpot alone you will need to code. Are there any specific elements you're struggling to edit?

Hi @Pink_Pony , in support of what @TomM2  shared - coded modules are the way to go.

Considering sharing your brand style guide with some high-rated HubSpot Website developers (See HubSpot marketplace) for a quote to code and install a HubSpot theme based on your brand. Then you can drag and drop to create any assets you need, without code.

best,

Pete

Hi @Pink_Pony and welcome, it's so great to see you on the HubSpot Community! 🎊

Great question, thanks for asking the HubSpot Community and for the valuable feedback, I've shared it internally!

For information, I'd like to share these articles "Build a custom coded template" and  "Structure and customize template layouts" that might be of interest.

And here is a similar post that you might want to take a look at: "Is there a way to change or create a template without code?".

Also, I'd love to put you in touch with our Top Experts: Hi @TomM2, @HubDoPete and @danmoyle do you have recommendations for themes where no code is needed, to help @Pink_Pony, please?

Thanks so much and have a wonderful weekend!
