One thing I discovered (during a complex import using the API) is the Sensitive Data can stop an integration working (we have to turn off the Sensitive Data, run the import, then turn it back on again).
I have seen a Scope for the API to allow access to Senstivie Data but when I looked for it now I cannot see it.
For an organisation I expect it to create more admin time (setting permissions, setting team permissions, etc.) but it's well worth the effort.
