Hello, I have a question about the Time zone on contacts and company objects of CRM.
1. In contact objects: how time zones are arranged in this column? Is it arranged as a (continent and city) or (continent and country) or (continent and state) or (continent and island)? I see a few time zones are in the city and a few in the state, a few are missing. So please elaborate on this part for better understanding.
2. why are there options to select in contact object in time zone but the same time zone in the company object is open and no options?
I agree with you that there does indeed appear to be some inconsistency with how these values are formatted. This is something that has been identified by another HubSpot user. I would encourage you to give this idea an upvote. By upvoting, we can bring this to the attention of Product, and hopefully have it resolved in the future. The more upvotes, the more likely this fix will be prioritised.
You may have already seen that the time zone property is a standard property with pre-defined options, so you won't be able to change these, unfortunately. You can check how the values are formatted if you search for the property in Settings > Properties > Contact Properties> Time Zone > Edit.
As for why the Company property is single line text field, rather than a dropdown like the Contact property, I'm not too sure, but my upvoting the idea, we may see some standraisation between the two proeprties in future.
If it's causing an issue in terms or reporting or automation, you might be better off using a custom proeprty where approprioate?
So here It can be created manually, taken from the source (Google ads, your meetings link time zone, etc)...It's usually Continent/city or timezone. It's supposed that 1 person is only in 1 timezone at a time.
Si here its taken form the website (if you have the domain URL) and the concept is different because one company can have different locations/offices/ so here could be less relevant and you may want to enter it manually for the HQ or for the point of contact.
Hope this helps
