Custom Object Association Workflows - without Ops Hub

Hey All!

Wondering if there is a way to associate the Contact records with a Custom Object record that I have created. I've heard it may be possible without custom coding and via workflows but not sure. May I ask is anyone aware of a way we can do this?

How exactly are the custom object records created? Which logic determines the association between custom object record and contact, which criteria must be met? Is it a shared value in both records, a shared association with another record, ...?

Hey @karstenkoehler!

Hopefully we will alreday have all the Custom Object Records in a couple might be missing though. 
The logic that determines the association is if the Referrer Code on Contact Record matches a Partner Code (Object ID Record) on the Custom object then associate them together. So they will be associated with both records i.e. the custom object record will have multiple contacts and the contacts should only have 1 custom object record.
