Local Development error

I’m having an issue setting up my local development. When I enter a unique name to reference my account, I get the following two errors:

  1. RequestError Error: self signed certificate in certificate chain
  2. A TypeError has occurred. Cannot destructure property ‘accountId’ of ‘(intermediate value)’ as it is undefined.

@swalker1

Are you still having this issue?

Are you adding a portal or is this the initial setup?

I’m still having this issue and I’m doing the initial setup described here: https://developers.hubspot.com/docs/cms/guides/getting-started . However, I think it might be related to the restriction of my company’s VPN.

Hi @swalker1 ,

Pleas follow this setup and run command:
Step - 1 > npm install -g @hubspot/cms-cli
npm install @hubspot/cms-cli
Step - 2 > npx hs init
Step - 3 > npx @hubspot/create-cms-project project-theme
Step - 4 > npx hs upload project-theme/src project-theme
Step - 5 > hs watch src project-theme

Hope this helps!

Thanks and Regards.

Thanks for your response Diamond. However, I ran into the same error. Step 2 didn’t work as I already had an existing config file, so I ran “hs auth” command. After entering in my CMS access keys I recieved the following error:

[ERROR] A RequestError has occurred. Error: self signed certificate in certificate chain

*My hubspot.confg.yml file is still empty

I’m not sure where to go from here. I’m beyond frustrated.

@swalker1 ,

Sorry you are still struggling with this. You can manually create that yml file. See here for what it should look like.

Dennise,

Thanks for the suggestion. I have pasted the yml file sample to my project and have updated the DEV portal adding my portalId and API key. In the PROD portal I added the personal access key. I’m not sure what to do from there since I cannot generate an acessToken. When I run “hs auth” I still get the [ERROR] A RequestError has occurred. Error: self signed certificate in certificate chain. However, I was able to download the boilerplate theme to my VS Code editor project directory, but when I try to upload it I try to upload it I recieve several of the same self signed certified errors.

I am leaning this being a security issue with my VPN. I’ve never had such a difficult time setting up a local development environment.

Try without the access token

Example (obviously change name to reflect your workspace and not mine :grinning_face:)

defaultPortal: DennisMain
portals:
 - name: DennisMain
 portalId: Your portal ID
 authType: apikey
 apiKey: super secret hapikey. paste in yours here

use only this in the yaml file and see if that helps.

Other than that, I believe you may be correct about the vpn. Hopefully, you can work with IT on that.

Confirmed, I was having the same issue and then it got resolved after I turned off PiHole in my network.
