Webhooks keep resetting automatically

I set up an app a few weeks ago with a webhook subscribed to a contact property changed event on a custom property named shop_access. This is for the purposes of triggering an automation on n8n.

I’m now trying to add a few more subscriptions, however at random times my webhooks have been reset back to only the original shop_access changed subscription.

Doesn’t matter what else I subscribe to, or whether they are active or disabled. I’ve disabled the shop_access subscription, I’ve also removed it completely. But still after a certain amount of time the webhooks are reverted to only an active subscription to property changed on shop_access, and any others I had configured disappear.

Here is a test setup I made yesterday with four subscriptions:

then, after walking away for 10-15 minutes I came back to only this (Deal subscriptions were missing too):

I setup the exact same thing again, left it overnight and it was fine this morning. I added another new subscription earlier today (dealstage property changed), tested it once, then sometime since then, everything reset back to only the shop_access changed subscription.

Anyone have any ideas here?

I’m the only one with access to the app, so the changes are not coming from another user.

Hi @KHerbert,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention and providing such a clear and detailed description of the issue with webhook subscriptions reverting automatically on the HubSpot Community.
I can imagine how frustrating this must be, especially with automation dependencies in place.

The behavior you’re describing isn’t expected I believe so I recommend that you submit this feedback via the HubSpot Developer form so that the right Team can have their eyes on it.
Did you check the audit logs to confirm that no unexpected processes or integrations are making updates?
In the meanwhile, I’d love to check with our Top Experts : Hi @sylvain_tirreau, @Anton and @zach_threadint do you have suggestions to help @KHerbert, please?
Thanks and have a great day!

After almost a week of no resets it happening again this morning, and I was able to narrow it down and find the cause for my issue. It was a combination of of n8n doing more than I expected, and an oversight on my part.

The HubSpot trigger I had set up in n8n orginally only included the shop_access property changed trigger, same as the HubSpot subscription I had configured.

When I added more fields I only added them to the HubSpot subscriptions, not on the n8n side. I’ve now figured out that whenever you save an n8n workflow with a HubSpot trigger, it is pushing the triggers it has set back to HubSpot, overwriting any manually configured subscriptions.
