Private App Webhook: Pull Custom Properties with HTTP GET request

Dear Community,
I have an issue with my HTTP GET request, hope you can help me here. I would like to pull a custom property (angebot_counter) via this URI

https://api.hubapi.com/crm/v3/objects/deals/{sanitized-dealID}/?properties=angebot_counter

However, I cannot get the property into my output. My setup is a PowerAutomate Flow, and it only pulls the generic deal data:

{
 "id": "121sanitized",
 "properties": {
 "amount": null,
 "closedate": "2025-02-05T18:39:59.733Z",
 "createdate": "2025-02-05T18:39:59.733Z",
 "dealname": "(don't delete) sanitized ",
 "dealstage": "76057xxx",
 "hs_lastmodifieddate": "2025-02-13T10:38:21.026Z",
 "hs_object_id": "121sanitized",
 "pipeline": "default"
 },
 "createdAt": "2025-02-05T18:39:59.733Z",
 "updatedAt": "2025-02-13T10:38:21.026Z",
 "archived": false
}

I would like to add defined properties to this output, however, it doesnt work.
Some further context:

  • I have “crm.objects.deal.read” and “crm.objects.deal.write” enabled
  • I am super admin
  • The internet suggested to also activate “crm.objects.properties.read”, but I do not have this command
  • Another suggestion was, that Hubspot may restrict API access to custom properties, but i could not find out how to check this or allow it

Hope you can help me, feel free to ask any clarification questions. Any help is much appreciated!
Kind regards

@Dramons - A couple of thoughts:

- I see a trailing ‘/’ in the URL after the deal id value. I don’t think this is correct.

- I’m sure you have already checked this, but do you have the correct internal name for your property?

- Also worth checking whether variations of the request URL can return other standard deal property values - say ‘amount’ - even if you are not using them.

Good luck!

Steve

Hi Steve, thank you for the reply!
I removed the ‘/’ after the Deal ID, sadly this did not fix it however. Also trying other properties did not include them in the output. Still many thanks for the hints!

You can verify the call sytax is functional using the test call in teh documentation.

I’m betting that something is stripping your query parameters before invoking the API.

Hi Steve,

apologies for the late reply but many thanks for your help! It was indeed that something was stripping the properties off. I don’t know exactly what it was but i set it all up as a new flow and the half of if fetching the data works now! Many thanks for your advice.
Do you maybe also know whether Hubspot natively pushes all data as strings? My property is a unformatted number, however, the JSON specifies it as a string. Now i am wondering when i increment that number, do i have to convert it to a string to push it back to Hubspot?
All the best!
Dom

Most data is moved around as strings (really driven by JSON) - but HubSpot will convert to numbers/time/etc. when storing in a HubSpot property. Depending on how exactly you are doing the ‘increment’ operation, you should be able to operate almost directly on a HubSpot numeric property.
