How do I find the object ID to delete a custom object in HubSpot?

Hi there,

I’ve created a few different custom objects, which is great. But now I want to delete a custom object (as I created a more suitable one). It’s not as straight forward to delete one.

Firstly - where do I find the object ID? Just for reference, I’m a marketer which limited code exposure, so I followed the steps in this video to originally create the object: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=egYJL4Axohg
Thanks

Update (October 2026):

For anyone coming across this thread, HubSpot now allows you to delete custom objects directly from the CRM, without needing to use the API.

You can navigate to Data Management > Data Model, locate your custom object in the graph view, and select Delete object from the three-dot menu.

Please note that you’ll need to remove any dependencies on the object before deleting it.

Also, the API examples shared above use API keys, which are no longer supported.

For the latest steps, check out our guide: Create and edit custom objects.

@jbiddle The simplest way to get the object ID for a custom object will be to look at the url when you are in your hubspot portal when looking the object dashboard. The Object ID will always be the number that starts with “2-”
For example, in the url: https://app.hubspot.com/contacts/5555555/objects/2-1234567/views/all/list
The object ID would be “2-1234567”
A note for deleting objects. You can now delete custom objects directly in HubSpot without using Postman or the API. Navigate to Data Management > Data Model, locate your custom object in the graph view, click the three-dot menu, and select Delete object. You’ll need to remove any dependencies on the object before deleting it.

HubSpot API keys are no longer supported. If you’re deleting custom objects programmatically, use the current CRM Schemas API with a supported authentication method, such as a valid Bearer access token.

Another note is that the object must be completely empty to be deleted.
Hope this help!
