Workflow Error Notifications

Yes, this would be great! I would 100% use this feature.

:waving_hand: Everyone,

Workflow Issue Notifications is now live for all Enterprise customers. You can receive notifications of workflow issues via Slack, Email, Facebook Workplace, MS Teams, Mobile, Browser, or with In-app notifications on a per workflow basis. As a result, less business critical workflows can continue to be managed through the workflows Needs Review tab, but users can receive notifications for higher priority workflow issues every time they occur, or after as set period of time defined by the user. Workflow notifications are available in Enterprise-level HubSpot portals.

Two steps are needed for an account to receive this notification: notification recipients need to be selected per workflow, and those recipients need to opt-in to that notification per channel.

For the first step, to turn on issue notifications for a workflow, users will go to Workflows > Settings and notifications > Notifications tab. Then they’ll set select the desired individuals or teams that will receive notifications for that workflow. Lastly, they’ll turn the When Workflow Needs Review toggle to On.

For the second step, in order for each of those recipient to receive this notification, they will need to opt-in to one or more notification channels. To do so, users will first go to Settings > Your preferences > Notifications. Then will select the tab for a notification channels Email, Desktop, or Slack.

Then, to opt-in for this notification within each desired channel, users will expand the Workflows accordion. Within that accordion, users will check the checkbox next to When a workflow needs review.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and feedback on workflow issue notifications!

Best,

Jess

This is great but it’s very inconvenient that this is considered to be an “enterprise” level feature just to know if a workflow breaks. I would have expected this to be part of pro.

I cannot conceive that such an essential and critical feature as workflow error notifications is only available in the Enterprise plan. Sorry, but this is ridiculous and makes me think that HubSpot doesn’t care about small and medium-sized businesses.

I wish feature upgrades such as notifications for workflow errors were released to all users and not just Enterprise level.

It would be great to have notifications come through any time there’s an issue with the workflow, instead of notifications stopping until the first issue is fixed

Coming back to this one because “Delivered” turned out to be true for Enterprise and not quite true for the rest of us.

The issue notifications that shipped in 2023 are Enterprise-only. On Professional you get the Workflow Health tab (workflows with zero enrollments for 90 days), which helps — if you remember to look, and if 90 days is soon enough.

The other thing I kept running into: the failures that hurt most never raised an error at all. A renamed form field, a merged property, a workflow whose owner left the company — the workflow stays “healthy” while enrollments quietly drop to zero.

I built a small app for that gap and I’m sharing it here in case it helps anyone still subscribed to this thread. Workflow Watchdog checks your active workflows once a day and posts to Slack only when something looks wrong: (1) enrollments dropped to zero or fell sharply vs. the prior week, (2) validation errors buried across many workflows, (3) workflows untouched for 90+ days, with the last editor named.

Read-only — it never modifies anything and doesn’t read contact records. Works on Professional. Free up to 15 workflows.

Independent developer, not affiliated with HubSpot, not on the Marketplace yet (that needs three active installs first), so it’s a direct install from here: https://workflow-watchdog-site.onpwr.workers.dev/

Which of the three would have saved you the most? Genuinely asking.
