@FransLeys I see in July 2022 you asked if pulling sales invoices into Hubspot would be of any value. My overwhelming answer is YES!
The 2 pieces I feel that are missing from the Business Central integration are Products (Items in Business Central) and Sales Invoices (Deals in Hubspot).
Here are a few reasons why,
- Having the sales invoices & products in Hubspot would mean that automations could be triggered based on customer sales, specific product sales, after sales service emails, etc. Massive benefit
- Having the sales invoices in Hubspot would show the full value of customer to me and create a full picture.
- Having products in Hubspot would mean that quotes could be initiated through Hubspot and all the payment/automation features taken advantage of
How I would see the integration working…
Posted Sales Invoices in BC would sync as ‘won’ deals in Hubspot (the posted sales invoice lines would sync as line items on the deal in hubspot.)
Items in BC would sync as Products in Hubspot (the user would need to select which pricelist in BC would represent the sale price in hubspot though)
Deals in Hubspot (other than ‘won’) would sync as Sales Invoices (not posted) in BC
Note on current Customer sync…
Ive noticed strange behaviour in how ‘Contact Name’ and ‘Customer Name’ fields in BC sync with Hubspot. For more information please see my support ticket #11368796
@FransLeys I would love to help in anyway I can with the BC integration. Our company uses Busines Central for both B2B and B2C purposes and we are active across both New Zealand and Australia. I have a fair amount of knowledge on BC so happy to help give input and make this integration amazing!!
Thanks
Richard
@JewelleryServic Thanks for the feedback!
In 2023 we’ll look to release an invoice sync for Business Central. To note: those invoices will likely just sync to a dedicated ‘invoices’ object inside of HubSpot, which in turn you can associate to won deals (but you don’t have to)… Basically what data sync would do is make sure you can have those invoices live in HubSpot as the very thing that they represent (= invoices) so that these records can trigger automations and fuel reporting in the very way you want them to.
Double clicking on your need of what you’d get out of BC items actually syncing into the HS product library… I understand it will make quoting a bit easier! Good to hear that.
As to your note on customer sync: you’re very right, and it’s an issue we need to deal with on a level beyond just Business Central, and in fact beyond data sync in general. The very ambiguity of customers representing both B2C and B2B is what causes a disconnect a lot of our accounting syncs.
@FransLeys thanks for the update.
Invoices sounds perfect. Even better if its syncing to a dedicated ‘invoices’ object in Hubspot. Provided it has the line level details so that workflows can be built around specific product/service sales.
Item syncing to HS would be beneficial for building quotes and any workflows and automations for speicifc product sales. This might be accomplished through the new ‘invoices’ sync though.
Yes, ‘customer’ sync sounds like an industry problem. Only solution I can think of is to enable a degree of user config on how the sync is setup, i.e the user chooses if they want ‘customer name’ or ‘contact name’ as the name in HS. We solved this with a little dev on the BC side, basically when we create a new customer in BC, it will copy the name we put in the ‘customer name’ field into the ‘contact name’ field which is what HS is picking up. Seems to be working mostly…
Would be happy to be a BETA tester for any development on the BC integration if you need one.
