Set default "Unsubscribe link type"

HubSpot allows you to choose between including one of three options in the footer of marketing emails:

  • Unsubscribe
  • Manage Preferences
  • Both

The default option is Unsubscribe but this has to be changed on every email as there's no universal setting.

The fact that the unsubscribe link takes the user straight to a form that unsubscribes them from all subscription types, without even showing them, doubles down on the issue, as if we forget to update the link type on any emails, contacts may unsubscribe from emails without even knowing there are different subscription types to choose to opt into/out of.

All HubSpot needs to do, is add a universal setting for this in the company settings page, or even to consolidate the manage preferences and unsubscribe pages to take users to one page that allows them to at least see the options before they unsubscribe from all.

I also agree with this idea. The support team did reach out to me with a workaround of sorts by creating a global email footer, but I'd much prefer this be implemented as you described. Here's the link in case it helps you for the time being: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/marketing-email/how-can-i-create-a-global-email-footer?_gl=1*xdlewh*_g....
