Functionality to Suggest Merging HS Community Ideas
I am concerned that when ideas are posted multiple times, the upvotes across all of the simular ideas are diluted and thus potentially ignored or overlooked by HS as not being popular enough.
I know, I know -- a valid reponse from HubSpot's perspective might be that people should search old ideas and upvote that, instead of posting a new one. But it's not uncommon to see a new idea posted with some variation of "I know this has been asked for before, but I'm asking it again so HubSpot sees it" -- and the fact that users feel that kind of machination is necessary should tell HS a lot about this shortcoming in the way the Ideas work.
I don't know what the fix is -- I will leave that for the UX and dev teams to sort out. But it would be nice if there was a mechanism other than just searching old ideas, or else, if HS does account for this already, it would be nice just to hear from them about how that process works behind the curtain. (If you're not already, you could use your LLM for something like grouping together ideas that are conceptually the same so you'd have a holistic view of ideas. I'll waive my consulting fee for that idea 🤣)
