Different required fields based on deal type

Our team has several different deal types (in our industry that includes things like product purchases, workshops, certification seats, etc.) and each one needs different information.

Currently we have all deal fields show for every deal, but wouldn't if be great if different fields became required based on the deal type?! 

For example: require an event date for workshops for the deal to close, which wouldn't need to be required for a product purchase.
