Try adding a Filter CSS styling element to the image. filter: drop-shadow(black 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em);

You will need to create a child theme, edit and use that instead, as you can't edit the parent theme.

Aye. The sort method is probably your best bet. See the example in my previous post and the link I provided, and let me know how you get on.
