As Achurch Consulting’s Director of Marketing, Julie is a results-oriented marketing professional with over 20 years of diversified experience conducting Communications, Marketing, Writing, Editing, Event Management, Membership, and Training. She has always been interested in exploring the motivators behind how and why people communicate and engage with each other. Having earned a B.A. in Industrial/Business Psychology from Marymount University and an M.A. in Adult Learning/Organizational Development from George Washington University grounds her approach to marketing and engagement as one that considers the target audience first in every strategy considered and content created. She started her career working in meeting planning with the Health Industry Distributors Association and then shifted gears engaging in recruitment and training before working for several years with the Printing Industry of America as their Human Relations Manager prior to their move to the Pittsburgh area. Julie then worked as an independent consultant, further diversifying her experience in content creation by conducting technical writing, generating job descriptions, writing and editing web content, grants, RFPs, general emails, and letters. Julie’s passion for service merged with her professional experience through her work with the Arc Maryland as their Manager of Chapter Outreach. It was there, she brought together advocates for the rights of the disabled throughout the state and facilitated strategic planning with the Arc Maryland’s Executive Board. From there, Julie worked for over five years with Altai Systems, an association management software (AMS) provider, as their Director of Marketing. A lover of rescue mutts and a newbie to paddle-boarding, Julie resides in the Washington/Baltimore metropolitan area with her husband and two children.
