I can delete a contact's email address manually in the contact editor, but if I try to add a workflow action to clear the email address, I'm not allowed, and I'm presented with the message, "This can't be cleared because it's a required property." read more

I used Alternative email (which we don't use), but I didn't test it with other fields. Perhaps it needs to be an email field.
